Welcome (also) from S.E. Michigan!
On carrying/printing, you will learn (should learn anyway) to move so that printing is minimized. You don't have to change everything, just subtle little things. You'll get the hang of that.
As for holsters, you're going to hear this soon, might as well be now. A large number of us (do a search on this one) prefer IWB with the Milt Sparks Versa Max 2 (aka VM-2). It may be the most popular IWB choice in the world. It is certainly HUGELY popular (again, do a search on the names in the holster forum).
Problem with them is, there is a 6 month wait. NO PROBLEM! You don't have your permit or even weapon yet.
Once you are CERTAIN of which weapon you will be starting with, I'd call in your order and get in the que for your VM-2. They don't charge your CC until it's ready for shipping. Some of your waiting time will go by while your doing the permit stuff. And you'll avoid the "box of holsters" most of us end up buying, paying for, and never using.
One last thing. Worst case, you don't like the holster? (Occasionally some will not). You sell it on eBay. While MS charges around $105 ($107 for horsehide), they're going up to $200 and more (sometimes MUCH more) on eBay. Some folks just can't handle waiting!
