The slide lever is a decocker for the hammer, the lever at the rear of the frame is a take down lever to hold the slide to the rear.
Before the Russians came storming through Poland in 1944 the Germans moved the Radom factory tooling from Poland to Austria and continued to make the P35 but simplified the manufacture by eliminating the take down lever and poorer finish.
