SOB carry is like any other method of carry. Some people like it, some don't. There has been a lot said about how it could hurt you if you fell down. Ask yourself, HOW MANY TIMES in the last year have you fallen on your back? Probably haven't if you're like most folks.

There are people who advocate not carrying SOB with a pistol because you tend to hit the mag release if you lean on something. Uhh, NOT if you don't lean on things. I tend to stand up when I'm standing up. Otherwise I'm sitting down. Do you lean on your weapon if it's at another position on your belt? Thought not.

Sitting is problematic. Not much you can do about it. It's uncomfortable, but then again, so is a 4 o'clock in bucket seats.

As for sweeping yourself, it depends on your body type, height/weight, free shoulder movement, etc. Lastly, it depends on if the carry feels "right" as compared to any other position.

I have carried SOB and have had no problems. It's comfortable, easy to draw, and keeps the firearm near my center of gravity. For me, it's comfortable. YMMV.
