I'm certainly no expert, but the P3ATs I've handled seem to be really cheaply made, and I'm having a hard time understanding why so much is being made of the fact that they (and the LCP- a P3AT knockoff) apparently break. It should be pretty obvious that a $250 pistol full of little pot-metal parts is going to give you some issues, guys, come on. It's probably better than no gun at all, but I think most of us would agree that there are probably far better choices for a carry gun, in both make and caliber.

Sometimes these are the best carry guns. Sometimes I need a pocket carry. I find that the small J Frames are still too large, and a G26 (I do have one) is much too bulky.
I have a "carrier" that looks more like a thin "blackberry" case than a gun holster. No one ever gives it a second look, and I can wear it to the gym or church when I do not wear a coat, which is normally only on Wed night.
So I would submit that there is a slot for the admittedly cheap guns, as long as they work.
