My M&P9 was great and I did very well. I loved every moment of it and look forward to going back. As far as the steel target competition shooting on the third day goes the 45 did knock the plates down with more force, but it was a 9mm shooter that won in my group.
I read a comment about a Sig. I would suggest not taking a DA/SA weapon unless that is the one you carry every day and want to be proficient with.

I forgot to add that I went with another shooter and we took our spouses. We rented a 4 BR house in Pahrump for the time we were there and split the cost. It worked out to be less than a hotel cost and coming in to a 'home' like setting, complete with home cooked meals, BBQ and hot tub was just too nice to pass up.
