Our safe is in our bedroom about two and a half feet from my side of the bed (soon to be JD's side of the bed when baby gets here (I have a weird thing about not sleeping on the same side as a closet (something about sleeping next to a closet disturbs me), but sacrifices must be made, eh? anyway...)). It makes for very easy access should anything go wrong and it looks pretty good in my opinion.
Of course we live in an apartment and we may change things when we get into a house but I'm thinking that even if we were in a house I would still like the safe in the bedroom for that ease of access and control. It's really nice to roll out of bed and get what you need without even having to wipe the sleep out of your eyes.
