I shot 20 Federal Truball slugs yesterday and my mossberg shot 8" high at 10 yds. I held the gun tight and I didn't feel anything in my shoulder but my right jaw stung a bit... Am I doing something wrong? The stock is too high for a proper sight picture(I see the top of the barrel not just bead sticking out). I've also wanted to try Knoxx Spec Ops recoil reducing stock but also heard that the comb was too high for a proper sight picture for bead sight also. I don't think i'll buy one now since the recoil on my 12 ga wasn't that bad and it would be just a home defense gun.

This was a definite problem when I worked for 'em. During some T&E phases, people like Leroy Thompson (SWAT mag) noticed that the comb was too high. So, now ATI makes an adapter that sits between stock and receiver that will drop the comb on your shotgun by almost 1/2", bringing that sight into alignment much easier. You can call 'em and they'll send you one for free (since your gun already has their stock on it).
Ask for Kyle...and give him a hard time. He needs to be kept on his toes...
