I got into a slight argument elsewhere about my carry of the SR9.
The gun MIGHT go off if dropped with the safety off. While announcing the problem and recall, Ruger also stated that the gun will NOT go off if dropped while the safety is on. A lot of folks seem to ignore that bit.
I carry the gun with the safety on unless I'm about to pull the trigger, or disassemble the gun. I rely on the safety between my ears first and foremost, rather that those on the gun. The Four Rules are law. Manual and internal safeties are added insurance.
I don't know how accurate this is, but I heard the issue may have come to light during the CA drop tests.
