That G19 is a good all-around choice year-round. The 642 ain't bad 'nither. Really sounds like your already good to go.
If switching platforms concerns you that much, get a G26.......9mm(same caliber as your G19), easy to match up holsters, same operation as your G19....just a smaller, lighter 'package' that's a little easier to conceal in light summer clothes.
