If weapons of a particular caliber only came in one size and shape, you'd be sort of correct. That is not, however, the case. In fact, there are many more flavors of 9mms in the same size/weight as the Bersa.

I stand by my previous contention, that the .380's best destiny is in a platform which emphasizes its compactness. Larger and heavier is a case for a more effective round.

That said, if a lower power/larger platform is the only defensive firearm which suits you, then more power to you. If a .22 is what you can handle, it's better than having no firearm at all.
