It reminds me of some anti-war friends I have. They are comfortable with their views but find fringe groups like Code Pink to be offensive and hurt their cause. Similarly, open carry demonstrations, confrontations with law enforcement and the constant drumbeat of 'educating the public and LEOs' draws nothing but negative publicity.
This type of activity does nothing to further our cause or promote Second Amendment rights.

I guess we will just have to disagree.
I have seen the opposite here in Virginia. No demonstrations or planned confrontations, just people legally carrying and letting others see responsible law abiding gun carriers.
I think that the antigunners are going to think we are a bunch of yahoos no matter what we do.
I have found that the people who are just not familiar with guns seem to have a pretty open mind.
As I said before though, I usually conceal when I can.
