Boom-Stick holsters proprietor, Jeff Wright, is relatively new to making holsters, but not to leather working, his father specializes in tack for exotic animals. I contacted Jeff about making a special "Askin's Avenger" (a very popular copy of the late Bruce Nelson's "Professional" holster), for a Government Model. I requested it have a sweat shield, double stitching , zero degree cant, standard belt loop (vs. the hidden belt loop), reinforced throat and trimmed in grey elephant hide with a matching pouch for one magazine & Surefire flashlight.
Front & back view of both the holster and pouch make it very apparent that although Jeff maybe semi-new to the holster game, there is absolutely nothing "rookie" about his dedication to quality craftsmanship. Stitching is straight and evenly distanced from one another, his edging is some of the smoothest I have ever seen and as most handgunners whom carry can attest, we have seen and own lots-o-holsters. Jeff's boning is second to none, the fit is very tight with my Baers and snug with my Colt's, which I appreciate in a holster because I am one of those folks who likes to break them in to suite me. The dye job on both pieces is even and quite well done. I just received the holster today so I can't give a review of field use, but hope to soon.
Jeff offers a very high quality product at a very competitive price, I can honestly recommend Mr. Wright's work to even the most finicky customer.
