The one knock on the gun I have is the ambi safety. It doesn't take a lot of pressure to disengage the safety while wearing it. It is one of my favorite carry guns, but I am going back to carrying my p7m8 until I get the ambi safety removed, and the safety tension adjusted.
The price you quoted is a decent price btw

The "soft safety" I think was one of the issues with some of the early EMPs.
Mine is Ser# 33* (just three digits), and I sent it back due to some FTF's, but I was also really scared of the soft safety that could be switched off very easily and accidentally.
When I got it back from Springfield, it ran like a Singer sewing machine and I couldn't make it FTF no matter what ammo I used.
Plus, the safety then had that really nice, positive "click" that I got used to with my Colt 1911's.
So once Springfield gave it a onceover, my EMP became a "you'll get it when you pry it from my cold, dead hands" sort of pistol.
In fact, I hate to carry it very much, specifically because it's so pretty that I don't want to put too much holster wear on it.
But I
do carry it...
