I am a long time advocate of firearms safety and have taught it since the early 80's. I thought it might be pertinent to post a video that was published by the National Shooting Sports Foundation in 2003 and is a great reminder to all of us about the basic rules of firearm safety. Although this video refers mostly to hunting, it also contains a bit of information on handguns. This is by no means meant as a substitute to taking the actual course but just a refresher for those who have and a basic set of rules for gun owners to live by.
For any member of this forum who needs information on where to take a firearms safety class, you may PM me and I will help find a class near you. Most states offer a hunter education class and also many offer advanced firearm safety classes.
Some state concealed carry laws require some type of firearms safety education to obtain a permit and that is usually a part of your concealed carry class. There are many states however that do not require it as a prerequisite to a CCW permit.
I am not a CCW instructor but strictly a firearms safety educator. If I can offer any information, please feel free to contact me.
On to the video ..
