the slide and everything apart?

Maybe I should just get a revolver..lol but, I want the
higher capacity mags I can get in the semi.
For me this all depends on how much I am going to use the gun. If I take out one of my safe queens to shoot for a day I usually do a fairly detailed clean afterwards since I know it will sit for a fair amount of time before being used again. Now, the guns that I shoot in competition I do a quick clean of the barrel and insides about every 800-1,000 rounds. Then do a detail strip and clean every 3,000 rounds. This seems to work well for me and I get zero malfunctions due to dirty parts.

As far as my CCW, it is a j-frame revolver which I clean up about once every 3-4 months weither it needs it or not. I hope this helps!
