Cleaning
Just cleaning a semi-auto through the ejection port is not enough for me, especially for a CCW. Field strip the gun and the magazines after every range trip. After every 3 or 4 trips, detail strip and clean. When pocket lint, sand, dirt or other grunge gets built up from day to day carry, strip and clean. Bottom line, it's a tool to save your life. Take 15 minutes out of your day, spend the $20 bucks or so for the right stuff and clean the thing. If you can't, or don't yet know how, spend a few minutes on Youtube or a couple of bucks at the gunsmith's and get it done.
