If it's a carry weapon, clean it after you shoot it. That way you never forget for too long and run the risk of a jam/misfire due to too much grunge. Hopefully you're shooting often enough that you're not building up too much yuck between trips to the range...if you're going more than a month between shoots then I would suggest you shoot more. :)
