I'm in the market myself. Went to a gun show a couple of days ago and jeeze the selection is overwhelming! That being said, I met a very instructional vendor who spent a lot of time with me. He eventually swayed me away from cheap imports and fancy, dust collecting shapes and complex mechanisms, towards an American made brand with a lifetime warranty. Kershaw. I tried several and decided that the size and type for me was the KERSHAW SHALLOT 1840CKTST BLACK ASSISTED OPENING KNIFE. It's thin, light, simple and works like a charm. Admittedly I didn't buy it from him as I don't have the funds yet ($65), though a good price for a knife that MSRP's at around $100.
I will put the bucks aside and look for one at the next show.
