My carry guns have one purpose only. I hope I never have to utilize it's intended use!

Other than daily carry, my 1911 rests on top of my slippers on the floor beside the bed at night. If something doesn't sound right, that's what I reach for before I go check the doors and windows. Much easier to navigate a tight hallway with a pistol than a full length shotgun. Other than that, it's my woods and fishing carry weapon as well as my range plinker.

Suppose to go to a family picnic this coming Sunday and the weatherman's calling for 40-60% humidity and low to mid 90's temps so it'll be shorts (don't look, you'll go blind) and the J-frame in my pocket.

There's a story about...

This Sheriff back in the 1880's that was playing poker with two guys that were cheating. Apparently, the sherriff didn't realize it but the breeze was starting to blow the money around and he put his Peacemaker on the pot.

The bad guys decided they had better start loosing. (well, I at least got a good chuckle out of the story.)

I've never done anything as dramatic, and have no intention to. I use my weapons for what they are intended to: protection against animals attacks, bad guys attacks, and for fun.
