Looks great

You did an excellent job. I think you are much handier with modifying guns than I would be. I have thought about having a bobtail done on a Kimber Pro I have, but have not done it yet. That point on the end of the 1911 government grip is just excess material and tends to print on your cover garment anyway.

Thank you guys and I agree Pogo, it's excess that's just in the way and it's nice not to have it pointing up at my arm or printing.

I like the 1911 ,but for carry and ccw make mine a G-36. Its no BBQ or fashion statement , But its a 45acp.business statement lacking the bells and whistles and plain it works as is and allways.

I don't like the angle of the glock grip at all. I sold my glock when I got springfield xd's, which are hands down much better in my mind. I sold 2 xd's also though because I like 1911's better for carry. They are thinner than both glocks or xd's, have the best feeling grip and the triggers are easy to change for an even better fit. As far as I'm concerned they are the best designed for carry and the bobtail makes them even better, plus nothing makes a business statement like a .45 1911. I'm also not sure what you mean by bells and whistles, because the only bell or whistle over the glock is the thumb safety and I think cocked and locked is great for carry. Maybe you mean not being plastic is extra bells and whistles? If so that's a big plus.

This one is on it's way to be refinished so that's something else you can dislike. I'm not sure why would consider it a bbq gun or fashion statement unless again you consider anything not plastic a bbq gun.
