Anyone HONESTLY carry all-steel 1911 daily?

I'm considering adding a full size government 1911 to my carry list. I may just stick with LW Commanders instead, but thought I'd ask if any of you carry and all-steel governement model daily (with good holster/belt combo obviously important)?

Thanks.

I carry a full size GI model from Rock Island daily. Get a good belt and a good holster. I really enjoy my Rock.

Yep. Parkerized government model. +1 on the heavy duty belt.

I don't want to hobble those great .45ACP ballistics with a shorter barrel. If you shorten the grip, you lose a round. A lightweight will increase recoil a bit.

I alternate between a K9 (all steel) with a Brommeland holster and a Kimber Custom II (full size and all steel)with a McDaniel II (Andrews leather) daily. Both are quite comfortable as I ride a motorcycle almost daily (with no problems) and getting in and out of the truck (and sitting in it) haven't presented any real discomforts. Both are comfortable carry, otherwise I'd have to do something different.

I'm 6' and around 210 pounds and I used a collared pullover (like a golf shirt) and both conceal well in the warmer times. A jacket in cooler months does the trick as well...YMMV. As you'll hear in answer to this post, there are several really good gun/holster combinations that are used daily. Good luck and welcome to the forum!

Depends on the day. Today, I have my Dan Wesson on. Have been wearing it for the last 2 months or so daily. Agreed, get a good belt, and a good holster. I had a client build a belt and we played with the hole location so that It is as tight as possible and still comfortable.

If I have to tuck in my shirt or dress differently where I can't conceal my 1911, I will wear my Bersa Thunder in at Tuck This holster.

What is effect on 1911 ballistics by going with a 4inch barrel versus the standard 5"?

Just a shade off main topic but I carry 226 ST - all SS and a full size ....... it is the belt/rig combo which is the main deal IMO. .. weight fully loaded is just a fraction shy of 3#.

I have a nice rig also for my Sistema Colt and would be just as at ease with that on board daily.

Yeah, I'm just wondering how the weight wears on you daily (if at all) as well as size of barrel (is it hard to sit in a car or seat)?
