Marlin Glenfield 65c, Interarms Mauser HSc .380, Chinese SKS, '98 Argentine Mauser in 7.65, Tec-9, Glock G21, Colt Trooper Mark IV in .357 NP. I think that's about it. I don't miss any of them--they had their day for what it's worth. I seldom look back as I've usually come out better afterwards.

this may invite dissent but the Para SSP
functionally fine, but like all standard 1911s: - doggone heavy to carry - few rounds per mag - complicated to safe and un-safe - limited as single action - difficult to strip and clean (c'mon, a bushing wrench??) got an XD-45 with the more-or-less mag set same caliber lighter to carry more rounds always on, never fiddle with 'em safeties revolver-simple action piece of cake to clean

I've only sold two guns I don't miss. The first was a Dan Wesson 357 I got in 1982. The blow back was so bad my right hand would be covered in powder. The second I didn't actually sell but convinced the dealer to take it back when it stopped functioning in less than 30 rounds. Can't remember the manufacturer but it was a 22 I originally got for backpacking. Had a Mossberg select choke 12 gauge stolen that I don't miss either.

I like my Beretta's and Remingtons just fine. I liked the Benelli too, it was just over rated and I dont like the inertia system.

Hey ronwill...
that reminds me of a story. A freind of mine had a Dan Wesson that he bought cheap. It was the .357 with a six inch vented heavy barrel. He fired it and he too complained about the excessive amount of blow back. Since the barrel was adjustable, who ever had it before him adjusted it and apparently didnt know what they were doing. They left about a .030 cylinder gap. That thing had as big a fireball coming out the side as it did the barrel. Since I already had one, and had the barrel adjustment tool and the .002 feeler guage that you use to set the gap, I simply unscrewed the barrel and reset it. It made a major difference and he thanked me a hundred times. Three years later he sold it for less of a price than he paid...to me. I still have it. I bought that gun for 150 bucks and have won several matches with it. It is still one of my most accurate revolvers.

Taurus PT111: Shot all over the place.
Kel-tecP11 and P3AT: Kicked to much. Jam-o-matic. Springfield 1911 GI: Unreliable despite changing to better quality mags. |
