My new 9mm ... a $367 jewel

My newest purchase...a Stoeger Cougar ala Beretta Cougar made in Turkey that is one incredible buy. I wanted something in 9mm...a plinking gun that would digest ammo a bit more inexpensively than my .45 ACP or .357 mag...and walla, I found this gem:

I replaced the plastic grips with some inexpensive ($40) Hogue wood grips...they feel nice and improve the look...eh? Pistol comes with two 15 round mags (made in Italy).

Without a doubt, this was the easiest field strip I've ever experienced on the weapon. All metal weapon with the exception of the poly guide rod and magazine ejection button. I think I got a ferrari at the price of a chevy!

Not exactly small...not really large. Smaller than a 1911 though. Here is a size comparison to my three inch GP100.

I shall take it to the range on the next good weather day and post a detailed range report with photos. This might just turn into a carry weapon rather than a fun gun.

Congrats, that is a really nice looking piece especially for the price. The grips are a nice touch.

I read that they were made on the original Beretta equipment. Great deal!

The vast majority of threads I've seen on them have been favorable.

I've yet to see one in person (no one around me seems to carry them), but it is something I'd like to check out for and those wood grips sure do improve the look.

Nice! I've looked for one since the big write-ups last year. I wnet to Gander the same day the NRA did a big spread and was told those pistols sell for over $500 (while the article listed $329). Would you mind sending a PM with your dealer's contact info? I'm looking and a friend in Vegas is too. Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!

I like the new grips you have on it, but wow that GP stole the show on that other picture. Looked like a "big" sp101 and some Gemini custom work?
