+1 on the Neos. Very reliable, accurate, and a breeze to take down.

Not cheap but another good choice would be a CZ Kadet.

is this some urban myth about the difficulty of field stripping a Ruger Mark I/II/III ? Mine have never, ever been any problem whatsoever. They have to be among the most ingeniously designed rimfire pistols ever, as well as durable, accurate, sturdy, etc. It takes all of about two times of disassembly/re-assembly to figure out that it ain't rocket science.

I shoot a S&W 22A and have put over 500 rounds throughit without cleaning,I squirt a little breakfree clp on it and it keeps blazing away

I recently got a Ruger 22/45.....and I gotta say that I don't like it all that much. Yeah, once you get the hang of stripping it down and re-assembly, it's not all that hard to do. I had a few problems with mine and sent it back to Ruger. When they send it back, I think I may just trade it in on a Browning Buck Mark.

I have a Ruger Mark II. Yes, I know that removing the bolt and getting back in right is a pain, but if you practice it for 10 times in a row, it becomes easy.

Had a buckmark but didn't like the sights so I sold it to a guy at a gunshow for 200 bout a year ago. Should have kept it and changed the sights. But I will be buying a P-22 soon.

I have had a Ruger 22/45 since 1992. It is an outstanding gun. Very reliable and pleasant to shoot.
