Sorry I didn't get to this earlier, here is the reason why I said the Berretta Neos...
My torture test/Range Report...The good, the better, and the really ugly.

Depends on what you want the .22 for. If it is just for plinking, a Browning Buckmark is great. If you want it for practice to reduce the ammunition cost, get a conversion kit for your carry gun. I have both. I love both the Buckmark and the Cierner conversion kit I bought for my Hipower.

.22LR

I've got these. I use a few in my NRA Basic Pistol classes.
Ruger MKIII 512
Ruger MKIII 22/45
S&W 22S
Ruger Standard
Walther P22

The easiest to takedown and clean is the P22, it's a plinker.
Followed by the 22S for ease of cleaning.
The more involved ones are the Rugers, but those are the most accurate of this list. I use a MKIII in bullseye league; not stock anymore, tweaked it a bit.
(didn't list my revolvers!)

Checking in from the geezer section. Don't overlook a good used Colt Woodsman or the Smith & Wesson K-22. Both are accurate, dependable, and indestructible.

If I was going to add a new .22 pistol to my shooting battery I'd go with the Browning Buckmark. It looks to be a winning design. Any I've played with are first rate.

I agree with what 2 other members wrote. You will not do much better than what you already have. Keep the Ruger, it is one of the best 22 pistols out there, and spend the money on ammo and have fun.

I was terrified the first time I re-assembled my Mark III 22/45, and it did take me about 45 minutes to put back together. So what did I do????? I took it apart again and put it back together in 20 minutes. Now, it's a snap to do. Go on the ruger website and watch the assembly video.....the guiy does it in about 15 seconds!

Beretta NEOS - Shoots as well and as my Browning Challenger II, Nomad and Ruger Mark III. Best part is if not cleaned after every shooting it don't take a rubber mallet to disasemble.

I have a Ruger MIII, 22/45. It has over 5000rds through it and I have never taken it down. Why are you worried about cleaning it? Mine runs like a watch and hits POA.
All I do is spray it out with carb cleaner and then spray it thoroughly with Strike Hold. Every once in a great while, I run a wet bronze brush through the bore, dry patch, then wet patch with some Militec-1. This gun is freakishly reliable and accurate. For $250, at this point, I'd rather replace it, than bother detail stripping it. But, I don't see that happening for at least another 10,000rds.
