Wanting to get a new pocket gun
I am looking into getting a pocket gun. I am really thinking about getting S&W 642. I had a kel-tec 380 but sold it. It was okay but not the best. Can someone give some input on what is out there and what my options maybe.

This is a great comparison sheet for pocket guns.
Mouse Gun Comparison Not listed is the new Ruger LCP, similar size to the KelTec P3AT. The Kahr P380 is also not on the list. Kahr will be shipping their P380 soon, their smallest new pocket gun! Kahr Arms / .380 Models / P Series

You can't go wrong with any S&W snubbie. I carry one in the pocket with a DeSantis pocket holster. Extremely reliable, and easy to reach for when needed.

Last month I bought a 442 with CT grips and love it. I still need to get a pocket holster though.

I carry a Taurus 85 CH Ultralight with Lasergrips in either a Smartcarry or pocket holster. It's a great little revolver, light and surprisingly accurate - 2.5" at 15 yards.

Define pocket gun......
![]() BTW, the LWS .380 has the identical footprint if you prefer......and both are absolute little gems. ![]() Last edited by David in FL; May 21st, 2008 at 05:23 PM. |

Take a look at the NAA Guardians, I have one in 32 acp with gutter sniping and one in 32acp. These are great liitle guns. I will also consider a Ruger LCP after the buggs are worked out. I don't like a snubnose revolver for pocket carry, to thick for my prefrence.

SW 642 is a great gun, but a bit larger than the Keltec. I find the Keltec easier to drop in a pocket anytime. The 642 takes a bit more for me to hide, but is still classed as a pocket gun.

Seecamps, NAA Guardians, etc. You don't like KTs, so go with the steel versions. You'll like them.
