shipwreck: Is your Walther DAO? Looks like a nice weapon but I just cannot stand the DA/SA inconsistent trigger pull. Every weapon I own, with the exception of my M1 Garand is DAO...and I just cannot see attempting to get used to the DA/SA format. I find the Glock trigger pull consistent with my training. I would, however, consider the Walther if it met that type of trigger pull criteria.

When I looked for a CCW, I fondled the Glock, XD sub compact 9, and a bunch of other guns, but I eventually settled on a Kahr CW9. The Subcompact XD9 is going to feel just as bulky since the grip is the same as the full sized XDs. However, it is from what I hear a great gun.

I vote for Glock 26, I just picked mine up about a month ago and love it! It absolutely disappears under a t shirt.

The A/S is DA/SA. But what is sweet is that it has a 3rd option - the A/S (for antistress). It can actually be set for the 1st shot to have the length of the DA, but the weight of the SA. I don't usually use this, however. And, it is optional. The SA pull on the A/S trigger is one of the sweetest SA pulls I have felt. Once U break the gun in and the trigger smooths out - the SA is so sweet. I have a fullsize and a compact P99. The DA trigger on my compact is a bit lighter. Its not as heavy as say - a Beretta or HK double action pull. I like it slightly heavier to keep me from having a Neg discharge should a stressful time come up. And the SA pull is wonderful for target shooting.

I love my xd9sc. In a Crossbreed supertuck, I can wear it with just about anything.

you should consider the XD9sc since it operates exactly as your 45 (same manual of arms)
I prefer the glock grip to the XD9sc, but thats what you should do, is try several to get one you can grip correctly I carry a Glock 30 and I carry/shoot the wife's 26 well also throw a G17 17-round mag in your pocke and you're good to go!

I actually rented an XDsc 9mm a while back - and compared it to the P99c.
Here is my post about it: Walther P99c A/S VS Springfield XD Sc - HandGunForum.net

did the same here. xd45 service model and then got the glock 27 for more comfortable daily wear. Revolver is still the MOST comfortable, but G27 is a close second, so I'm using it. Higher capacity, .40 cal and it's reliable.

Went and looked at both today, $10 dollars difference in price. Seemed almost identical in size, XD maybe slightly bulkier.
Did notice the salesman trying to push the XD over Glock 26. (Sportsman Warehouse) |

I prev had a G17,19 and 26 - ALL shot low and to the left because of the trigger - No matter HOW MUCH I practiced (had the G26 for 8 years). The Glock 34 was the first Glock that didn't do this for me - it came with a stock lighter trigger - so maybe it was the trigger that caused me these issues with all prev Glocks.
However, I still dumped the G34 I had after about a year simply because of the mushy trigger. When comparing it to my P99 in S/A pull - it was horrible. No more Glocks for me. Between an XD and a G26, I'd pic the XDsc. If there was no P99 compact - I think I'd either get an XDsc or an Hk P2000sk.
