I vote the Glock 26 as it is the one that I have the most experience with, however I would go to a gun shop and handle each one and see which feels the best in your hand.

Looked at all these models, and MORE. The Glock 26 may be a great shooting pistol, but something not right about it (for me).

Seen 2 I do like. One was a Kimber Aegis (I liked the look, but not crazy about the thought of a 1911 style in 9 mm?). I was at Cabela's (I know they are expensive) and like the looks of the HK P2000SK. That seemed pretty sweet. Marked at $819, but salesman told me come back next weekend, as there is a large sale and about $150 off HK pistols!

Any member have either of these? I will probably pick up the HK.

Between the XD & Glock, i vote Glock but check out the Kahr's we recently switched from G-26's to a Kahr PM9 (wife) & Kahr PM45 (mine) really like the Kahr's alot. Hell my PM45 is smaller than a G-26 & you get 5+1 rounds of .45 ACP & they seem to be very reliable so far

I looked at those as well at a different store. They were very lightweight, which I liked. I thought there were reliability issues with the Kahrs? What is the recoil like with the 45 in that size?

I have a Kahr CW9. It's a great shooter, weighs only 18.5 oz. or so with empty magazine. Mine's been totally reliable through over 600 rounds. Great for concealment, great trigger, not bulky like that XD9sc. How anyone can say that is a compact, nevermind 'sub-compact' really irks me. I thought the gun large.

Kahr CW9 has single stacked magazines. The gun is slim and slender, and stock grips are great.

I like the Kahr so much I prefer it for pocket carry over my J-frame. And it's a heck of a lot of fun to shoot, and shoot accurately.

Recoil is surprisingly mild with 9mm +P.

Only problem I ever had was with magazine catch-spring being a bit light for a southpaw. They sent me a stronger one free. My GS installed it.

I really could not be happier. Just forget about changing front sight. You don't need night sights anyway. Rear sight is adjustable but I haven't needed to adjust it yet. The gun points very well and the sight picture is very good, too.

Other than that, I haven't had any 'issues' whatsoever with the CW9. And the only real gripe I have is that it only comes with one magazine. Expect to pay up to $50.00, including shipping, for another one from the manufacturer. That's a little bit extra but I liked their return policy if the mag proves to be problematic.

Do not know if I'd like the CW40 or CW45 due to possible concerns about recoil-but since I haven't shot either it's mere conjecture.

I can highly recommend the CW9. It's ALSO a value gun from Kahr. I got mine on sale for $399.00 from my LGS. I really like the gun a lot! Great going, Kahr!

The Glock is a hideout gun for certain. Diminutive and extremely reliable. I chose the 27 for the largest round out of the smallest package reasoning. The 26 will do you just fine.

Test-fired both the G26 & the XD9sc back-to-back. I was favorably disposed to the Glock until 'the test drive.'

It was all a matter of feel and comfort - for which I ended up buying the XD9sc.

Enjoy testing them all - it's always personal preference.

Looking for a smaller 9, XD9SC, Glock 26?

Both real fine compacts. But another one to check out is the S&W M&P9c. Comparable size and features to the other two. But try to hold each and see which one fits your hand the best. That's the true test. Dry fire 'em and see which trigger feels right.

Lengthwise the Smith 9c is as long as the Glock 19. It is shoter in the grip than the G19 with the flat-based mags.
