HK2000 or Sig P239

I'm contemplating my next purchase several months down the road. I've ruled out the 45 ACP - just can't find a DA/SA that fits my small hands well enough. Most of the newer choices are all doublestacks which would never work.

Anyway, I'm considering HK2000 or Sig P239, in 9mm or 40. Any thoughts or experiences with either of these choices?

I'd purchase the 239 in 9mm over the HK or a 40.

I like the HK P2000 but I'd probably go with an HK P30. The interchangeable back straps on both pistols give many grip options.

I have a 239 in 9 & 40, as well as USP-C in 40 (older model of P2000)

My EDC is P2SK LEM in 40. Lighter, more capacity and I can hit better than my 239. The reload is a 12rd P2K mag w/X-grip adapter.

The 239 has a better SA trigger but its a tad too heavy for 7+ rnds.

YMMV

Both are nice, but I would buy the 239.

Safety First
I have the P239, it was my first CCW. Mine is in the 9mm, more accurate than I am and stone cold reliable. My opinion is, that for someone with small to medium hands as I do and wanting a reliable carry gun, it is an excellent choice. Good luck...

I am debating the same thing almost. I know I want it in
9mm. I am debating between the P2000SK and 239 and then I will have to decide what trigger system. I hope I get a chance to shoot one of each at the range.

I love my Sig P239 9mm, it's controls are easier to reach for me, better so than the USP compact models as well as the HK2000... I tried them all but I choose the Sig because of the controls and the way it felt in my hand.

Also, my P239 will give ANY factory gun a run when it comes to accuracy, this thing is very accurate. If you don't mind the 8 rounds (10 rounds available in 9mm with longer clip) or 7 rounds of 40cal, then I recommend it... capacity is not as important to controls and the way the gun feels to me, so that's why I never choose the HK.

The HK2000SK is almost the size of a Glock 26, it's smaller than the 239 in over all dimensions. Compare both of them when you handle them at the shop and see what fits you better.

Both good, slight preference for the Sig

I own the Sig P239 in 9mm and the H&K USP40c. The latter is very similar to the H&K P2000 you mentioned. Both are excellent guns, reliable and accurate.

The P239 is slightly smaller and thinner than the USP, although it weighs a few ounces more because of its aluminum frame compared to the polymer frame on the USP. I find the P239 easier to conceal and very easy to shoot well, so I tend to carry the P239 instead of the USP.
