Summer: Ruger LCP .380 in a DeSantis Nemesis Pocket Holster or a Smith and Wesson 642 in either a Desantis Nemesis Pocket Holster or an Avanti IWB Holster

Winter: H&K P2000 9MM LEM in either a Allessi CQC OWB Holster or a Kramer IWB Holster

This is subject to change depending on what I'm wearing.

One of the carry combinations that considering is a 642 and a 65 with a 3 inch barrel.

thanks,

Indeed I am a "revolver guy at heart". I tend to carry a 4" Ruger GP100 more frequently in cool weather and a 2-1/2" S&W 686, and more recently a 2-1/4" Ruger SP101 when it's hot. I like the reliability of revolvers.

What holsters do you use for the different revolvers? I too like the reliability and simplicity. I also like the heavy double action pull necessary to launch a round when under a great deal of stress.
Thanks for your thoughts.

I use holsters from HOLSTERS I use a #14 for my GP100, a #46 for my S&W and have ordered a #12 for my SP101. They are good quality holsters that snug the gun in tight to the body for good concealment. I prefer my revolvers to have some weight. No airweight J frames for me thank you. I also like the double action pull, however I do not buy DAO revolvers as I like to have the single action option and in truth have never had a hammer snag problem with any revolver.

IMO: Glock 19 or 23 can do both.
Exactly, I carry a 19 or 17 year-round but if you have to have a small/light gun for summertime, I'd go with the 26.

So, to answer the question...get a 19 and a 26.

In the summer I pocket care a Rossi 462 6 shot with +P.
In the winter Taurus pt1911. Even in the summer I will carry the pt1911 with a IWB and untucked shirt.

It's not about summer or winter to me, and so far I can easily carry a full sized service weapon (P220) on a reasonable hot day, as long as my shirt is out I am fine.

Need a pocket holster for the J-frame though.

That's what I was going to suggest. A 26 for summer and a 19 for winter. You could carry a 19 magazine as your spare for both and use the same ammunition in both.

What a great question!

In the summer, I carry the Ruger LCP .380, and in the winter, a CZ-75 PCR Compact 9mm, both in special carry fanny-paks.
