Range report on Birthday 1911

I took the new Taurus PT1911SS to the range this evening. I'm quite sure I love this gun. Smooth shooter. Not a hiccup. Nice tight groups. Shot two mags from a bench (no rest or bags, just bench) at about 25 feet in two separate groups. Each group was inside 2". I'm happy.

Less felt recoil than my G23. I've been shooting DAO for quite a while, so the trigger was interesting. Seems decent, but I'll need a little adjustment time.

This gun is unquestionably a better shooter than I am (I'm the weak link in the system).

I only had time to put about 50 rounds through it before a massive thunderstorm arrived. I'll get back out early next week and let you know how round two goes.

Thats awsome and thanks for the report. During one class at a major firearms training school, the only manufactor of 1911s that did not break or need tweaking by the range armor was the Taurus's. Sure put alot of umphhh behind their advertising for me.

That's great to hear! Looking forward to many years of trouble-free fun.
