Thank you so much for sharing a story about a special friend. My dad was one of that generation too, and from what your shared a man of those triats as well, and one who I too miss a lot, but I am assured that one day we too will once again see each other face to face. But until that day the Lord has blessed me with some friend that I would go to battle with, would trust my life with, would give my life for. The freedoms we enjoy, and the forever relationship with our Lord only enhance this relationship. Thanks again for sharing.

My dad and four of his seven brothers all served during WWII. They are all gone now, but it was a real blessing to grow up with them and others of that generation around. These men were so different from most of the men I meet today. I believe that the biggest difference is in the focus. Today most people are focused on themselves. These men focused on others especially their families. I, me, and mine were not words that had a large part in their vocabulary. We, us, and our seemed to be much more important to them. And the we, us, and our they referred to could be very large.
