Using Locktight to freeze internal lock on SW 340 PD
After reading several stories about Smith Wesson's internal locking mechanisms "locking up", has anyone tried using locktight on the keyhole? (I am specifically referring to a SW 340 PD).
Or, is it possible to remove the lock parts, and still have a functioning firearm? So far, I have fired about a thousand rounds through my 340 PD, without any problems, but......

I would not rely on locktite. Go to the S&W forum, there are detailed instructions on disabling/removing the abomination that is the internal lock.
Good luck! Regards 18DAI. |

My Take On The Matter:
Add LokTite to an already proven to malfunction part that is subjected to recoil and the recoil is what induces the malfunction? Now the recoil will work the LokTite loose, causing some loose debris in the firearm. No thank you. Biker ![]()

Seach for LocTite Stud & Bearing Mount.
If you carefully degrease the metal parts that will never let go.
