Doc, it's always a good idea to have a backup holster identical to your primary. If something happens to your primary rig you can still carry your primary weapon positioned exactly the way you're use to.

Had a disturbing Issue while out getting lunch.. its about .03 from my house so i figured i would wear it ..

Made it there was reaching into right pocket for money as I'm a left its the opposite side i keep money and i hear a POP..

I knew exactly what it was the mag had just released in my 1911.

Paid got back to the truck and sure enough it was released..

I wasn't able to recreate this at home but disturbing none the less.

I don't know what i did different at home vs buying lunch

The mouth is extra think and i must have just turned the wrong way to make it release. Gonna wear it some more round the house and see if it does it again

WOW. Bud that isn't good. It might have been a freak thing, but it can definitely make you not trust the rig for quite a while! I was just about ready to head over to ebay as I was reading through this post, but you stopped me in my tracks. I guess I am going to stick with GB, MCV.

Had mine on again today while working outside in the garden. Doing all kinds of lifting, bending, etc and diddn't have any type of problems. However that mag releasing is a huge concern. Was it on a 1911? If so, you would really have to do some serious twisting to get the mag release to pop. For that manner on any gun! Think, I'll just toss mine into the "holster box" as I sure don't need that happening. Man, just when you think you got a sweet deal along comes the holster demons to mess things up!

yep it was on my springfield loaded playing around with it here in the house again the slightly extended mag release of my other springfield popped every time..

with springfield with normal release
i was able to get it to release again by turning and picking something up off floor there was the pop and loose mag.

Maybe I'm wearing my belt to tight for it i prefer it to be fairly tight to keep gun from shifting

Unless your holster is different, the holsters that are pictured in this post appear to be made for a Beretta 92 not a 1911. Consequently, I wouldn't think the fit would be all that snug. Do you think that the pistol moving around or rotating in the holster is allowing contact between the holster mouth and the mag release?

Front the top of the slide to the bottom of the trigger guard measures about 2.93 inches on the Beretta and 2.68 inches on the 1911. The width of the slide in the collar area is 1.08 inches on the Beretta and .91 inches on the 1911. If you encircle that area with a cloth take, the 1911 is about .5 inches smaller. That's quite a difference for a holster.

It is supposed to for a 1911 and looks little different than the pic.. Fits the 1911 pretty snug

But holding it in my hand and fooling with it yeah i can see it might be contacting the holster mouth its real tight on the release button i mean tight

Sorry Bud, I was editing while you were replying. Did the post on ebay say the holster would fit a 92 Beretta and a 1911? If so, the holster would have to be made for the 92 because you wouldn't be able to stuff a 92 in a holster made specifically for a 1911.
