How should a female carry ?

Everywhere. All the time. Assuming you love them.

That said, "off-body-carry", is never a viable solution, ESPECIALLY for females.

Dont stop looking until you find an intelligent body-carry solution for her that SHE is happy with.

Sorry... I had too. Bad Boy!

As far as a woman carrying, try out as many options as she feels comfortable with and see what happens. My wife was doing the purse carry thing for almost a year. She finally got her new Milt Sparks IWB SS2 last month and has been using that with her MK9. She loves it. Course, that setup only works with a good belt and scrubs certainly dont apply.

Good luck!

Unless I missed it, you never told us WHAT she is carrying? Since she is "scrub clad" majority of the time, I would recommend a Smith & Wesson 642 in an ankle holster. The Galco Ankle Glove is awesome!

It does matter what she's wearing. In honesty, a small, light gun WILL be held up by her scrubs without a belt.

I wear skirts to work all the time and with the Colt Mustang it's light enough where it doesn't pull too much on it. Now, my Kimber, on the other hand, I'm going to have issues.

Granted, purse carry is better than no carry, but I would recommend against it. If it's the ONLY option, fine, if not.. keep looking. There are so many different guns and different options, she'll find something right for her.

Also, keep in mind that sometimes we ladies need more than just one gun.

I can carry my Kimber concealed in ALMOST any outfit, but there are a few that I can't and I need a smaller gun, and so I use the Mustang.

Start looking for a smaller backup gun she can rely on should she be unable to conceal her primary.

Read The Cornered Cat...from PAX...

This lady doesn't post a lot, but when she does...listen...
Read through her 'Cornered Cat forum too...good stuff!

My wife would only use her purse...let me back up a bit!

First my wife had nothing to do with guns...32 years...
Then she decided to get her CCW and a pistol, add another 2 years...
Then she would carry once in a while, in her purse...another year...
During the last few months she decided she would try IWB carry for her SW 637w/CT Laser...

I believe that the purse is not a great idea, but better than nothing...I've worked on her to try IWB, which I think she will grow to like...hopefully...

Stay armed...stay safe!

She will be carrying a Sig 239 .40 with wood grips.

And as far as another gun, she thinks they are too expensive as it is hehe. One for each of us, she can justify. More than that, it's "Do we really need to spend the money ?" Even though we can, she is still very conservative when it comes to spending money.
