Loops are more secure , but not as easy on and off , Plastic clips are ok untill they break and easy on and off , Metal clips are ok untill they spring out and easy on and off .. In short there is no simple this is best answer ... If you dont have to take your gun off multiple times thro the day get loops , if you do take your pick of metal or plastic , clip or j hook .

Personally, I don't care for kydex clips, because they might break, but also seems to scratch the heck out of my belt.
Metal clips are fine, if they're the right ones, with the lip on the bottom. I've had IWB holsters with horrible clips, but there are some good ones. I don't know if they still use the same clip, but the one on my Desantis is great, so are the ones on UBG holsters. I prefer snaps on my loops, but they are nice. They don't scratch anything & look good, IMHO.

I've seen fiberglass reinforced nylon, kydex and steel clips all fail. I do not trust any of them, and I am no longer willing to use any of them in the production of a holster for any reason.
Needless to say, I'm a "loops" kinda guy ![]() |

Gary , that is because you are a " perfection" kinda guy on the things you build . Your name is on it and were mine , likely i would feel the same .. All attachment systems can and will fail , to me i guess its kinda like selection of a ccw gun , a series of balances to achive a product that will actualy work for you every day .. for some its clips , for others its loops . I wont gainsay a choice other than you note i did not post a failure issue on loops , just an inconvience .

Depends on my holster...clips for CTAC, loops w/snaps for MS VMII, Concealco, MaxConV and FIST (came w/o snaps
).Haven't done the OWB too often but the slots on my Galco ain't making it, for me.

The price of the gun is really ridiculous right now through CDNN ($350.00) Now back on topic ..............Snap loops are great for easy on/off but can allow the holster to slide a bit on the belt. I find that if it does slide it stops at a position that "it" likes and stays. The advantage to the snap on/off is that the holster rides as tight to the body as a standard pancake but has the convenience of a paddle. probably the smartest innovation that's come down in a few years.

After reading DirtDawg's comments, I'd have to agree. It's kind of a pain to have loops that don't snap open/closed. After having said that kydex clips can break, I have to add that a kydex loop (Like on my new Fist holster), appears to probably last longer than a leather loop & not scratch my belt.
It is a bummer that Fist doesn't include snap loops on his holsters as standard, though.

Ditto.
The loops are more secure IMHO, and I prefer slotted belt holsters to paddles, again the slots being more secure.

I prefer the snapped loops, easy on and off. I just don't care for clips.
