Need a holster for full size 1911, UBG???
It occurred to me that I don't have any leather rigs for my carry gun, a full size SA 1911 (can't carry out here at all, but while home on leave and such I still can.) But if I ordered something with a month or two of wait time, I'll have a rig waiting for me when I do get back to Ohio this summer.
I'm planning on sticking with IWB, and want to buy a complete rig if possible, belt, holster, mag pouch. I've been lookin at Nate's stuff from UBG for a long time, but can't decide between the Canute or Striker. Anyone here carry a full size pistol (preferably 1911) in either of these? Have any opinions on them? Or can anyone think of any other good set-ups similar to this?

Thanks QK. His stuff always looks good and seems really reasonably priced, I keep seeming to comin back to his web page when I think about orderin somethin, but back in college the wait time kept makin me procrastinate. Now I just need to figure out which one of those would suit me better.

Nice JD, I especially like the stamp on there, it's a nice touch.
Any issues with stability or the like with the loops on the Canute?

None what so ever, it's a solid rig, stays put, doesn't shift and distributes the weight perfectly IMHO.

I strongly 2nd Nates work. I also have a Canute for a DW RZ-10 and I carry it very comfortably. You will not be disappointed with his products or his work and his delivery is weeks for his top quality workmanship!

I may be old fashioned, but I just don't trust clips of any kind. I use only holsters with leather loops and I've got 2 UBG Canutes. They're great and I highly recommend them.

I have two Canutes, one for a Glock 17 and one for an XD9 (both with EGA's stamped on them!). Solid rigs, top quality work, very good looking leather. I carried a clip holster for a little while before ordering from Nate. I found as I shifted, turned, in and out of cars, etc. the clips would sometimes get pulled up on the belt. I'll only use holsters with loops now.
