I've never been a fan of wife beater t-shirts. It always seemed to me that under the arms was where one needs t-shirt protection and not their belly and back.

I purchased a pack of wife beaters when I began to carry. I did it specifically because of leather (or a belly band) against the skin.

They work great and they don't offer the bulk of a normal t-shirt, being very thin and ribbed. They can be worn under a casual t-shirt or a silk "dress" t- shirt etc. because they are thin and ribbed.

I still don't use one for everyday wear - only for concealed carry.

My acupuncturist actually told me I should "always" wear some sort of undershirt to hold the body heat at my spine (severe nerve damage). Well, the older (and fatter) I get, the more hot natured I've become. Wearing two full layers during the warmer months is unbearable these days as I rarely if ever worn an undershirt before I started carrying (unless I was hunting or fishing in cold weather). An A-shirt/wife beater is about all I can handle and be anywhere near comfortable - I would like to try the Underarmor shirts sometime though, I've always heard they're great.

Thumbs up

Under Armor. Works great summer or winter depending on which style you purchase. Way bettter than cotton for comfort and durability.

Regardless of the heat, I always wear a t-shirt under a dress shirt, or a polo... just feels better with a OWB strong side hoster.
