Thanks Red,
I'm actually looking for a clip on holster now that it is getting hot. And, yah it fell down my pants leg a few days ago while doing some landscaping in the back yard. LOL Ever find yourself in a place having to get creative trying to stay CCW?

I had to go to the courthouse - ironically, to go the the Sheriff's office to get a minor correction made on my CCW. Had to leave my .38 in the car but when I got to the courthouse door, I saw the sign saying No Cell Phones (since 9/11). Went back to the car to leave the cell phone, and as I walked up to the metal detector again, I realized I had some ammo for my .25 BUG in my purse (I had left the .25 at the gunsmiths a few weeks ago and had emptied the ammo into one of the outside pockets on my purse.)
Whoops. I did an about-face, mumbled something about my cell phone, and went back to the car again.

Me and some friends where all out for the evening. One of the guys reminded us that we all had a uniform inspection the next morning and needed to get haircuts for the inspection. So my turn comes up and I hop into the chair and the next thing I know the barbers asking me to take my jacket off. I had to do some quick thinking because I was wearing a M9 in a shoulder holster. I managed to slide out of the holster as I was taking off the jacket without anyone noticing. Was the last time I wore a shoulder holster.

the only place i go with out my weapon is work as my job in the military doesnt require one all the time. with that being said i need to get some dental work done(fillings) and i was driving my girlfriends car because it gets a lot better mileage than my junker jeep. so i had my gun (xd 40 service) and a mag carrier with two full clips on it.
As i wont leave a gun in any car i went in with all that and luck would have it they wanted me to remove all metallic objects before they x rayed me. i must be a lucky guy because the dentist was a 26 year retired Airforce officer. when they told me i need to remove all metallic i asked the girl to get the dock for me and i explained to him what i had on my person and why i wouldnt leave it in the car. He said thats fine, just put all the mags on the table and clear the weapon(i carry with one in the chamber) so that no ammo was being x rayed and told me to keep my piece on my person. I did the x rays happened i rearmed he drilled on my face a little we talked about the Air Force and a little about guns and the current state of affairs and he told me i could carry anytime i came to his office unless i was going to be put under for some reason. i guess unless its illegal carry... if it is illegal carry a force multiplier of some sort. and if its truly concealed dont worry about it. good luck in future experiences and if you get found out some time in the future just say your with the CCF (combat carry forum) most people will not ask any questions but spend the rest of the time trying to figure out what the hell that is.

That's Great! I'll have to remember that one.

A few months ago my wife had to go in for an MRI. As always I was carrying, at that time a Delta Elite. Before going into the office I locked the pistol in the car. The girl in the office told me to go in a little room and empty my pockets. They had a locking closet of sorts to secure the stuff. What I did do was forget a full magazine of 10MM in my back pocket. I was standing beside my wife when the machine was turned on. Suddenly my back pocket was trying to pull my 140 lb. carcass into the side of the machine. I'm glad I left the gun in the car. Thaat was a big magnet.

Old Navy theft deterrent system
I had gone into the Old Navy with my wife some time ago and the theft deterrent system went off when I walked in the door. I had my PPK in the inside chest pocket of my thick leather jacket (best carry method I have in winter, works great in my line of work). I made eye contact with at least one person at the registers so they could recognize who it was that set the thing off walking IN the door.
All I could think about the rest of the time was what was going to happen when I walked OUT the door, and how I would respond if it went off. I also keep my wife in the dark about when and where I'm carrying, as she's Japanese and I'm still indoctrinating her into the firearms loving fold. (I recently had a great breakthrough during a dinner table discussion. She answered all of my "Why carry?" questions correctly!) So we walk through the system, and it goes off. I look around and make eye contact with a cashier, gave her a quizzical-turning-to-annoyed look , then walked out the door. I half expected someone to come after me, but alas, no one showed. I am so used to carrying, at some points I do get worried if I forget to disarm when I think I should! ![]() |

If that would have happened here in NC you would have probably been searched or in a squad car. Anyway good luck on job.

I had a similar experience. My brother and I had just returned home from college for the summer and had to pee in a cup before we could go back to work for the commercial contractor we had worked for the summer before. We decided to go shooting that morning and to stop by the lab on the way home. Unthinkingly, i still have 15-20 .22 rounds in my pocket when I go in to pee. The nurse didn't seem to think too much of it when I dropped them and a folder and a 10/22 magazine into the dish. One of the perks of living in ND I suppose.
All the best, Joe |
