Ever had to deal with a scenario like this before?.....

So, I lost my job back on Feb 2nd and have been carrying (as Chris calls it) 16/7 ever since. In the last two months I have been experimenting with IWB no holster and find it very comfortable to the point that I often forget I’m armed.
With that said, I was offered a job last week and I start on Monday the 5th. (It is my dream job I never knew existed. I’ll be the new Certifications Manager at Adam Aircraft (www.adamaircraft.com).) So, I have to do the pre-employment drug test thing.
Ok.
I make a few other errands along the way. I get to the clinic and after all the paper work is started the nurse escorts me back and says “empty your pockets please.” For a brief moment I think to myself “No, my gun is NOT in any pockets. Whew!” And begin to empty my pockets. The first thing I plop on the counter is the fully loaded spare mag, and she says “Wow, that’s some jack knife you got there.” Without skipping a beat I said “yup!” and promptly placed my handkerchief on top of it.
All I wanted to do was pee in the cup and get out before she realized what it really was.

If I had remembered I had a mag in there I might have just left it in my pocket.
And I suppose if she suspected I still had something there I might have suggested I was just happy to see her. LOL
(Geeze, did I say that? )

Anyhow, being kinda new to CCW, I’ve wondered how many times you “veterans” have crossed things like this and how you handed it.

Never had it happen but want to say Good Luck with the job.
Lost mine about the same time and finally have an offer myself, did the drug test already, just have to wait for the fbi bg check to come through. Anyone know how long something like that takes?
Anxious to get working again myself.

I was running errands before work and I had a spare mag in my pocket, before I sit down at the desk I empty my pockets, well one time I forgot I had mags and the guy I was relieve was still there. The legality of where I work whether or not I can carry is a little "grey" at best. Fortunately I don't think he recognized what I had

.45,
The last time I had an FBI background done, it took 6 months.
Now it depends on exactly how extensive it is though.
Mine was for a (as I was told) Top Secret? 15 years history.
Does that help?

A speedloader is much more obvious. Fortunately the folks who saw it thought nothing of it. People in those jobs see a lot and for the most part nothing phases them.

humm, OML (that's the lab that we use) doesn't make you empty your pockets. They just put this blue dye into the water, you pee into the cup, take it back out. They test the temp. and then they go in to flush the toilet, add more blue dye, and then the next one goes in.

When I broke my ribs and when the pain got to be too much (didn't know I had broken them, just a hairline fracture really) I went to the emergency room armed (Kel-Tec .40). I was in so much pain that it didn't dawn on me to leave it in the car (drove myself there).

Doc didn't even bat an eye when I removed my shirt and there it was. The rad. tech didn't bat an eye (and he said that I didn't need to remove it because it wasn't in the way of the X-Ray), and the nurse that took my vitals, etc.. didn't even notice it I think.

And this is in a very liberal town.

I was wearing a sportcoat at church covering a new nylon, velcro topped spare mag pouch clipped on my belt, left side. After the service it was pouring rain. My brother and I both ran out the door to get the cars for the rest of the family. I never noticed while I was running to the parking lot that the nylon pouch had slipped up off the metal clip and fell off. When I got back to the door to pick up the wife and kid. She was holding my spare mag pouch
A lady going to her car saw it on the pavement and brought it back to the door saying someone dropped this, thought it was a cell phone. Luckily my wife and mom knew what it was and got it for me, and that mag pouch is no longer used LOL.

If loose gun laws are good for criminals, why do criminals support gun control?

Don't get me wrong here, but I don't think I'd carry a mag in my pocket. Call me a neat freak, but the idea of pocket lint working its way into my magazine and HP's sounds like a recipe for failures to me.

As for being spotted, it's only happened once. It was over memorial day weekend last weekend. I was at a very old buddies barbecue with a bunch of close friends and his family. Pretty much everyone there knew I carried and those that did'nt would'nt be surprised or care if I did (a few of them carry too). Then an old HS classmate of my buddy and girlfriend showed up. We were all chewing the fat on the porch with me and my girlfriend swinging on the porch-swing. Apparently my shirt rode up enough to expose enough of the holster for her to say "what's that?".
I began looking for what she was talking about when she said "under your shirt.". I responded "oh, my hand cannon?" without thinking, and then observed the mortified look on her face. About then everybody started laughing and poking fun at her. She seemed very embarassed about the matter. I thought it was kinda funny.

Elk all i will say is go jog to the end of the block and back without adjusting your firearm carrying that way , or go out in the yard and really play with the dog , then order a good steel clip holster to just clip on whateaver pants ( don hume makes a good one as do others ) LOL
