Info on Idaho needed: Anderson Ranch Reservior

I am going on a camping trip north of Pine, off Hwy 20, SE of Boise in Elmore Co. Do any of y'all Idahoans know if that area is National or State Park? Idaho Parks and Recreation says you can't carry a loaded weapon into a park area (though I will anyway), but just wanted to know if any of y'all know that area. I assume we'll be somewhere between Pine and Featherville.

clarification

Just read in another thread that you shouldn't talk about carrying illegally in a thread. I agree. My statement as to the Idaho Park Service should be amended because of the Idaho Statute below:
TITLE 19
CRIMINAL PROCEDURE
CHAPTER 2
PREVENTION OF PUBLIC OFFENSES
19-202A. LEGAL JEOPARDY IN CASES OF SELF-DEFENSE AND DEFENSE OF OTHER
THREATENED PARTIES. No person in this state shall be placed in legal jeopardy
of any kind whatsoever for protecting himself or his family by reasonable
means necessary, or when coming to the aid of another whom he reasonably
believes to be in imminent danger of or the victim of aggravated assault,
robbery, rape, murder or other heinous crime.

As I would only pull incase someone WAS in imminent danger of being a victim of heinous crime, I believe I would have a legal leg to stand on. Especially as it can be proven that the crime rate in our National AND State Park Systems is getting out of hand.

- better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6

DOTL,
I would tend to agree in spirit, but keep in mind that even though you can not be charged based on "protecting" somebody, that doesn't mean you can't be charged for having a gun where you are not allowed to have it in the first place.

It would depend on the LEO and the DA.

In any case, good luck.......

Wish I could help you, but I'm on the other side of the state and don't know the area.

Parks & Recreation Administrative Rules 26.01.20-600. PERSONAL SAFETY, FIREARMS.

No person may discharge firearms or any other projectile firing device, or otherwise purposefully or negligently endanger the life of any person or creature within any land administered by the department. All firearms brought onto lands administered by the department shall be unloaded at all times and either out of sight, or in a vehicle, except when used for legal hunting as authorized in Section 575 in this chapter, or for exhibition or at designated ranges as authorized by the Director.

Hey DOTL!! I lived in Mt. Home and also was a reservist for the Fish and Game there. I have at mant times while doing reservist work at Anderson Ranch Dam and alway's ran across "Armed people". Idaho runs on the old laws of the west, I don't think any one would say anything as long as you arn't causing any problems. Stay cool and conceal....I would and have many times. Have a good time and enjoy yourself. I will.......Will....move back there at the drop of a job!!!

How do you plan on getting there? If you can go threw Yellowstone and Tetons and then down, you'll love it.
