Tony,
I had asked the same question when I was applying for mine. I put "all proper purposes" on mine and got my license. Hoss

I got mine back in 8 days. My uncle got his in 12 days. Here in Arkansas I picked up 5 states I believe with it over the resident permit. I could have went for a TN. non resident and picked up NM. but I do not see that'd I'd ever use it and for almost $100.00 more and all the hoops to jump through and the wait. It just wasn't worth the hassle to me to go for a TN. when the NH. does every thing I need on top of my resident permit.

You can go to Memphis, Tn. and head out somewhere and before you know it, bam you are in MS. and not covered by my AR. permit. So it was very important to me to get covered for that and when I travel through LA., AL., GA., FL. does not recognize a non-resident permit. (if I'm not mistaken) But FL. and AR. recently started reciprocal honoring each others permit.
