Michigan Movie Theaters under 2500 seats?

Wondering if anyone knows of theaters with less than 2500 seats in the Detroit area. Especially looking for oakland or western macomb, but spit 'em all out.

(for you out of staters, michigan prohibits carry at any entertainment facility with seating for 2500 or more)

Just curious, does this apply to a multiplex type theater? In-other-words if there are 18 screens that add up to 2500 or more seats or if the individual screen you are viewing only has seating for 500 people does the law apply? I would guess that the law is aimed at large sporting or concert type venues but that is just a guess.

movie theaters in michigan

from the state of mi firearms law

(f) An entertainment facility with a seating capacity of 2,500 or more individuals that the individual knows or should know has a seating capacity of 2,500 or more individuals or that has a sign above each public entrance stating in letters not less than 1-inch high a seating capacity of 2,500 or more individuals.

I take that to mean the entire facility, and do not go armed.

indeed it has been confirmed to mean the entire facility. So you have to add up all the theaters.

True, but there used to be little places with just a few theaters. Wondering if there are any left.

So do movie theaters display capacity as stated below?

I guess I would not read this to mean even multiplex theaters. I pay to go to an individual show within theater and have no idea what their capacity is unless it is posted. Boy, this is really grey.

I always see capacity posted on signs outside the entrance to each individual theatre, i.e. "MAX OCCUPANCY 340" or whatnot for fire code purposes. Are you expected to run around to all 20+ theatre entrances and do the addition?

Start counting the seats just to make sure the number is correct. That should get everybody nicely upset.

Actually you should be fine going unarmed. We all know that BG's don't go to movies right?

Exactly what is the reasoning behind this law? Are they saying that you are less likely to be attacked when accompanied by 2500 of your closest friends?

I think this law is so you don't shoot into a crowd of people if you miss the bg or the bullet goes threw the bg !!!!!!!!!!!
