See my reply, #20. These people are Past Masters at using the bureaucratic shuffle.

How would you like them running our health care system?

In short, it was completely non-compliant. I asked for copies of all the "level 1 and level 2 incident reports" and provided them a pointer to their own guidelines on what these reports are. Their response to my FOIA request was a single sheet of paper, with a spreadsheet outlining how many level 1 and how many level 2 incidents had occured. Information that was already public, and not at all what I asked for.

Now they expect me to go through an appeal process if I'm not happy with that.

I'm not at all happy with it.
If one of your U.S. Senators or your U.S. Representative is on board with this issue, ask him or her to make the request (and perhaps to remind the Department of the Interior that he or she votes on their budget request).

Exclamation FOIA Ignored?

BlackPR:

Consider this: The Regulation project is ongoing as we speak. These statistics are important to that process.

Have you considered writing a letter to the leaders of the delegation that pushed the original regulatory project into the light? I can't remember who the "Ring Leaders" were......maybe Coburn was among them? You can probably name them all by name......

But, consider this: The statistics you've compiled appear to be grim. The FOIA Request is essentially being ignored. Do you believe a request from a Member of the House, or the Senate, might get their attention? Hmm.........

Maybe, just maybe, Congress needs to hold some Hearings on National Park Safety? Maybe just the threat of such hearings, whispered in the "right" ears, might work to your/our favor? Hmmmmmm........

Just ruminating.........keep us posted........
