some good posts about a good topic...
Its nice to see people on this forum saying the same things I think, and hearing all the very important references of how their fathers taught them about firearms at an early age. My dad has gone to be with the Lord but I cherish all he taught me about life and liberty, and I look forward to passing it on to my son in the next couple of years.

I too hope I never have to shoot someone, but I don't think I'd have a problem doing it to defend me, my family, or another innocent person. You can't shoot to wound. If you have that mindset and wound someone, their follow-up shot on you might put you in the grave.

If loose gun laws are good for criminals, why do criminals support gun control?

If my gun works perfectly, it will increase my non-victim vibes, and I'll never need to draw in anger. If I have to draw, I hope the enemy runs away and changes carreers as a result, but as long as he lets me and mine exit safely, I'll exit.

I'll just add my 2 cents.

I dont WANT to have to shoot anyone...but if I had to, I would.

If it came down to either them or me or my family...I'm pulling the trigger...twice.

Maybe to clarify a little... any time you draw your weapon, you should only be attempting to STOP the threat. If you draw and the threat stops before you fire, you've accomplished the task and should not need to fire. If you should miss for some reason, and the threat stops, you've accomplished your task and should not need to fire again. If you hit one or two COM and the threat stops, you've accomplished the task and should not need to fire again. See what I'm getting at?

I dont think anyone wants to shoot anybody but the scumbags and bad guys of this earth. I for one hope it never comes to that but i do want the means to protect family and loved ones. As I stated before my guns are my insureance policy. There if I need them but hope to never use them. Stay safe everyone.

Although there are plenty of boneheads out there that have definate lead deficiency, I dont think theres a single person who is responsible enough to go through the ritual of legal self protection who wants to actually use their weapon. Those who know the truth of personal combat know that the aftermath regardless of the outcome is always a painfull affair and we want to avoid that pain at any cost short of the victimization (is that a word?) of our loved ones.

Shooting a person involves lots of money for lawyers, time in front of Grand Juries and time away from the things you really want to do.
It also messes with some folks minds. Me, I rather not,
but it beats all to hell the alternative.
