If he knew you carried, doubly stupid, if he didn't, then I am sorry you got outed so publicly. Good job being responsible with the alcohol.

That guy really takes the cake. I'm sure he changed his tune real quick when he heard that slide rack. Glad it all worked out.
This reminds me of when I was in the Army and doing the Night-time Land Nav course as part of my PLDC training. I had just found all my points and got on the a trail to head back to the NCOs. I came across a couple of other soldiers on the trail who had also finished and we all headed back together. Apparently another guy saw us coming down the trail and decided to try to scare us. As we approached and got nearly on top of him he jumped out of the bushes and screamed. He scare tactic was short lived as I firmly planted the butt of my rifle to his chest. He was pissed, but so what, he shouldn't have done that. But I will say that one the guys I was walking with screamed and started to run away and that was funny after the fact. I should also note that I was the only soldier in the class with a combat MOS, everyone else were clerks, supply and hospital medics (no offense to soldiers in those MOSs).

The adage that GOD looks out for fools and drunks must be true. You were neither. Good call in not drinking and packing.

The only thing I find even questionable from an LEO point of view is drinking while even having remote access to you handgun. Aside from that you were in fear of your life and the lives of others there so I say good job. That is one clown who I hope will remember that a "practical" joke can go seriously wrong in no time.
