Another valid point, there are many Republicans in office now that don't fit the bill of Conservative like that term used to mean. And are you referring to socially liberal or fiscally liberal, or both.

Rather than saying liberal or democrat it might be more appropriate to call them "anti-gunners". I think it's safe to say that we're all fairly "pro-gun" here regardless of our party affiliation.
