When I was 18 I had a guy pull a knife on me at a convenience store because he thought 'I looked at his bicycle'. I simply move a few steps behind an obstacle and laughed at him while I told him he was going to jail and called the police.

At 26 myself and 3 other guys where working at night in North Las Vegas.
Two meth heads came in to the business we where working at and demanded our wallets at gun point, I left with my wallet and life thanks to a cool head and stubborn attuned and the grace of god. Two of us had\have CCW's and where following the law and did not have our weapons on us. This is the very short version.

Voted. Yes, was unarmed or otherwise unable to access my weapon

I was robbed at gunpoint and was unarmed.I wouldnt have been able to draw at the time if I was. The guy had a gun in my face before I could react. He was yelling put it down over and over but I didnt have anything to put down.I gave him the money and he dropped it.His partner held the gun on me while he picked it up.Then they ran out.People say in these situations "I would have done this or that" but you have no idea what you will really do until it happens to you. I quit that night and will never put myself in a job that makes me a target. I carry all day everyday now but that day my gun would have done me no good. That has been over ten years ago.

I have drawn but did not need to fire, and even if I did feel the need to fire, I wouldn't have been able to. If you want to find out more, you can look for my introductory post to this board.

i'll start. i voted "yes, was anarmed or otherwise unable to access my weapon" because the store i work at was robbed at gunpoint when i was 19 and i could not legally carry.
You know, it's funny. I was thinking about startingthis exact topic the other day because I didn't see a thread concerning this. Considering I just applied for my CHL, I'd like to know how many people have needed it. I've been the victim of robbery more than once while living in NYC, go figure. Once, I was working in a gas station and was robbed at knife point. The other was when I was in high school. I was coming home from there and six kids beat me up and tried to steal my portable radio. I dragged two of them off the train but they stole my glasses so I couldn't see their faces.

This thread should make for someinteresting rwading. I look forward to it. I'd also like to add a second question: If you did have to pull your weapon, what happened afterwards. Please give full details. If you used it to defend yourself and shot the person, what happened when the police showed up? Were you arrested and released?
