victim quota

I've not had any violent encounters that required the remedy of a firearm, and I've been to or lived in quite a few places even the police fear to tread without substantial back-up. No, it's not because I acted like a tough guy, it's because I was alert and knew when to walk away. Perhaps that's a warning sign to a thug who's not drunk or on drugs. Insult my Mama or my manhood? Hey, no problem. Only a fool heeds the words of a fool.

Not in Idaho?

I have not come across any bad areas yet in Idaho. However, in my military days I spent time in Chicago, New York City. I know there had to be someone looking over me back then, or because I was young (18-20). The worst though to me were a few places in Philadelphia. Thats a tough place there.

Drew many times, never fired, but only while with police in high crime areas of the City of Boston, over a period of 8 years, 174 ride-alongs and one in NYPD South Bronx 44th precinct.

I was out sick with strep throat. I went to the nearby clinic. As I was sick, I didn't carry my weapon, cuffs, badge, etc. While I was waiting to be seen, a guy who I found out later was paranoid schizophenic(spelling?) began assaulting the woman who brought him into the clinic. I took the BG to the ground and held him down until the local P.D. got there. During the time it took for them to arrive, I sprained my left knee. After that, I started carrying at a minimum a pair of cuffs. I probably wouldn't have been injured if I had a pair of cuffs with me, as the BG didn't move for about 30 to 45 seconds after I took him down, either because he was catching his breath or he was knocked out. I did take him down hard on a tile floor. I held both his wrists without a problem during that time. After that, I used my wrestling skills, H-2-H skills to keep him on the ground. I have yet to draw my weapon to defend myself or others.
