When the "wait" happend to me I just found a lot of things to do to keep my mind off it, like going to the range, renting tons of movies, working out more than normal, or going to the mall.

AS of June 23, 2008, 369 days and still counting/waiting for preliminary approval so don't feel TOO sorry for yourself.

Just remember to run up to the mailman and yell "I HAVE A GUN!" when it gets there.

I just can't imagine the discomfort of those long waits.

I was a bit surprised but pleased a couple of weeks after mailing my packet to find a small envelope in the mail with my permit.

I know the feeling. Once I started calling though I lost a little interest. Place a few orders for holsters and the like. See what will get to your door first!

What REALLY sucks is when you've waited and waited and..(you get the point) and an envelope FINALLY arrives from the ASP and you tear it open and find..a fingerprint card with a note saying that yours were unclassifiable and to have more taken and send 'em back and by the way, this will add another 4-6 weeks to your wait time.

You didn't have to do that. You should have told him the truth. It takes a minimum of 90 days if he is lucky and if he makes the mailman mad he will hold it for another 30 days just to aggravate him.

Be sure the mailman doesn't see you checking the mailbox and it will help if you leave some milk and cookies for him.

I just received my Kansas permit yesterday. I sent the stuff in on Apr. 18, and for the life of me I can't figure out why it takes so long. I have been checking the box everyday for a month myself.

Anyway, I feel your pain. Hang in there.
